… Is Danish and means Apple Roses. This little treat is a lot easier to make than it looks and will be a show stopper at any dinner party. The roses are great to make a day before they are served, just keep them in an airtight container.
Ingredients
- 2 packs puff pastry ready to roll
- 3 apples
- ½ jar apricot jam
- A pinch of cinnamon
Method
- Turn your oven to 200°C
- Thinly slice the apples and bake them for 15 minutes
- Cut the pastry into 6 even pieces. Cover them in apricot jam, place the apples on the top with the ‘moon’ side sticking up
- Fold the pastry over and roll them up into little roses. Place them in a greased cupcake tin
- Sprinkle with cinnamon and bake for 15 minutes. Let them firm up for about 10 minutes, before you place them on a baking tray and bake for another 5, until golden and baked through
- Serve as they are or with a little custard or ice cream
